Spare Parts Movie

Spare Parts is an upcoming American film directed by Sean McNamara and produced by David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Leslie Kolins Small, George Lopez, and Ben Odell. It is based on the true story of a group of high school students who compete in an underwater robotics competition, first reported in a Wired Magazine story by Joshua Davis.

THe Movie is about a group of four Phoenix High School[disambiguation needed] students win first place over M.I.T. in a national robotics competition. The team had only $800 and used car parts but won the competition over several highly funded university teams. All four American students were undocumented immigrants from Mexico

Spare Parts is the first film under Lopez’s recently announced film and TV deal with Pantelion Films and South Shore[disambiguation needed], the film and TV ventures between Lionsgate and Mexican media giant Televisa.[4][5] Much of the shooting of the film was done on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico
